Arts Education Programs & Curricula

Works in Progress (WiP) focuses on community-centered art education through hands-on workshops and public programs at local laundromats and other community spaces. The focus of WiP is to make art education more readily available in our community— regardless of income, age, or background. We believe it is a basic human right to use our imaginations in the service of a better life.

When The Laundromat Project has moved into our laundry-based art center, we will offer a full roster of studio art and visual literacy courses. In the interim we have developed an annual drop-in workshop series which takes place each Sunday, 12-3pm from June to August at The Laundry Roomin Harlem, and offer a variety of workshops at street festivals and community-based organizations.
