Since 2014, ID Shop has operated as a facilitator, working with art and public institutions to support homeless and immigrant youth in the process of applying for government-issued identification (ID) cards. ID Shop: Round Robin, will mark the third activation of the project. Using the concept of round robin—a form of protest that allows for the sharing of thoughts while concealing participant’s identities—Sue Jeong Ka will attempt to document the history of (un)documented immigrants’ public life and personal narratives providing anonymity by concealing their identities. All documents realized through ID Shop: Round Robin will function as symbolic petitions informed by participant’s stories. The documents will be presented as diagrams and co-collaborative drawings and displayed in various public locations.
