Salome Asega & Ayodamola Okunseinde – The Iyapo Repository

Bedford-Stuyvesant – Interactive Technology

Created by Salome Asega and Ayodamola (Ayo) Okunseinde, the Iyapo Repository is a resource library that houses a collection of digital and physical artifacts created to affirm and project the future(s) of peoples of African descent. As 2016 Artists-in-Residence, Salome and Ayo created a pop-up museum in a laundromat to exhibit technological artifacts designed and created by Bed-Stuy residents through a series of public design thinking workshops. The sketches and drawings developed are now featured in the repository’s Manuscript Division and a select few have been realized and exhibited in the museum’s permanent collection. Visit the Iyapo Repository website.
